Laume is a spirit from Lithuanian/Latvian folklore. It is a spirit who rewards good hard working and honest people and punishes liars, greedy and unfaithful people. They would steal children and kill cheating husbands after they succeed at seducing them. They can also reward hard working people by giving them riches and caring for children while mothers are hard at work.
